Bamburgh Castle.
In 1610 King James 1 gifted the castle to one of the workers. He was ever the generous Scot. This ended several hundred years of royalty at the Castle.
Alnick Castle.
Thomas Percy 7th Earl of Northumberland (1557-1572): Thomas succeeded his uncle at Alnick and was appointed Warden by Queen Elizabeth I. He remained Catholic and she was none too pleased.
Due to her treatment he resigned as Lord Warden and became involved in a plot to place Mary Queen of Scots on the throne. He was betrayed by the Earl of Moray.
Elizabeth payed a large sum of money for Thomas’ release then had him taken to York where he was beheaded.

The Motorhomers were having a complex discussion;

‘Josie, the lovely wee guy told me that it wis a lovely wee cottage by the sea, Josie,’ said Francie.
‘Whit wis this lovely wee punter’s name, Francie?’ asked Josie.
‘His name wis Mister Baggins, Josie,’ said Francie.
‘His first name wisnae Bilbo, Francie, wis it?’ asked Josie.
‘Sure, Josie, sure, Josie, that wis his name, Bilbo,’ answered Francie.
‘I quite like it,’ said Phemie.
‘Och, Phemie, ye’d like shite if there wis sugar oan it,’ said Jessie.
