Loch Katrine

Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park includes 720 square miles of some of the best scenery and wildlife in Scotland. There are 283 Munros (mountains over 3000 ft) with 22 large lochs and 50 rivers and streams. In the west Ben Lomond towers over its namesake Loch Lomond the largest expanse of freshwater in the uk. The east side of the park around Callander is a dream for those Motorhomers who enjoy the peaceful scenery of the many small lochans. Sir Walter Scott was so impressed by the Trossachs that he was inspired to write his famous poem ‘Lady of the Lake.’ Tourists should remember to bring along a pen and some paper as they may also find the inspiration to write some Poetry.
