A man’s home is his Castle by Motorhome

Alnick Castle

Thomas Percy 7th Earl of Northumberland (1557-1572):

Thomas Percy succeeded his uncle at Alnick
He was appointed Warden by Queen Elizabeth I
He remained Catholic and she was none too pleased
Due to her treatment he resigned as Lord Warden
He became involved in a plot
To place Mary Queen of Scots on the throne
He was betrayed by the Earl of Moray
Elizabeth payed a large sum for Thomas’ release
She had him taken to York where he was beheaded

Bamburgh Castle

In 1610 King James 1 gifted the castle to one of the workers
Ever the generous Scot!
Ending several hundred years of royal ownership
