Take a spin to New Lanark by Motorhome

New Lanark
“The three lower rooms will be open for the use of the adult population
To enable them to read and write, account, sew or play, converse or walk about
Two evenings in the week will be appropriated to dancing and music
Every accommodation will be prepared for those who prefer to study
Or to follow any of the occupations pursued on the other evenings”
Robert Owen

Nelson Monument, Calton Hill, Edinburgh
The Motorhomers were discussing Lord Nelson. Francie posed a question;
‘Josie, is it true that the great man wore an eye-patch?’
‘Aw, Francie, here ye go again, dippin’ yer tiny brain cells intae my vast pool of educationalistic goldfish. Of course he did, that’s whit made him great. It allowed him tae keep his eye on the ball. In fact, I heard just the other day, that the heid coach of the Heart of Midlothian football team wis making his players wear them. He said that they played good football in patches, ye know, Francie.’
‘Sure, Josie, sure, Josie.’
